Update for Jan 8th
Sim day is a very dangerous day.
Background: I decided I’d move on to work with the Broke family, a family of Brandi, Dustin, and Beau Broke. Brandi quit her job in culinary (before the game starts) to spend more time with her family, specifically to raise her toddler Beau. Dustin is a trouble maker teenager, and dating Angela Pleasant. He is in the criminal career track.
Brandi definitely loves Beau, it’s easy to see. She rolls up wants involving him all the time. Dustin is often off sulking somewhere else in the house, and I wonder if that’s possible for these tiny people. He usually grabs a snack before school while Beau and Brandi play.
According to the game, Brandi once had a husband, the father of both boys, Skip. He died in a suspicious pool ladder accident, but didn’t die before he was able to get Brandi pregnant with a third child. In every game, the third child is always a boy, and always a “copy” of his mother, Brandi, so the only thing that varies from game to game is the name.
But that’s not really true. In my game, I was silly enough to max out her Family Aspiration perks, meaning she was more likely to have twins. I thought this would only affect future pregnancies, because the number of children is determined upon conception.
But that really didn’t matter, because she had twins anyway. I couldn’t decide between Theo and Gabriel for the coming boy so it worked out for me. Theo and Gabriel it is. Both children had black hair and blue eyes, which they must’ve gotten from Skip – Brandi has grey eyes.
Ah, but the happiness for the Brokes would only last for so long. The TV broke a few days later, and Brandi with three mechanical skill points decided she’d fix it. Electrocuted, she went and took a shower, ate dinner, and played some pinball. When her mood returned, she gave another go at the TV, once too many times.
Grim showed up, and Dustin and Beau (now a child) cried for a while. I was wondering what was going to happen to the four boys, on their own. Beau was going to become a teen in a few days, but not really soon enough. Dustin could take care of the boys, but they had just newly become toddlers – and needed to be taught everything! Two toddlers, school, and a job. If he does poorly at school, he’ll be fired (it’s cool that criminals care about their employers grades). If he’s fired, they might starve to death, but not before the social worker takes the children. It’s a big responsibility.
Dustin begged Grim for him to return his mother, but Grim was used to this kind of whining. He told Dustin he’d give him one chance, and held out his fists, telling Dustin to pick one. It didn’t matter which one he picked, both were losing hands, but Dustin would always blame himself for not saving his mother. What a shame, I was going to have Brandi marry Nervous Subject…
Now it’s up to the four lost boys to take care of themselves.
I had come to my two-season play mark, and hopped over to the Goth mansion.
Background: Cassandra was readying the wedding party between her and the town cassanova, Don Lothario. She has a younger brother, Alexander, and her father, Mortimer now in his old age. He is a retired Mad Scientist (top of the science career, which is the career Cassandra is also persuing). Her mother, Bella Goth, was abducted by aliens and not returned like the others would have been.
I had Alex stock the buffet table, Cassie called her guests and Mortimer played the piano for a bit… just to get him out of the way. When Cassandra was calling people, I noticed that Bella Goth was in her phonebook. I knew that Bella would be back in the Megahood, but I had no idea she would have a relationship with her family and everything! I was going to make her have amnesia. So Cassandra invited her over.
In a few minutes, the party was in full swing. Music was playing, Bella played with Alexander, and Mortimer was showing off his dance skills – I guess all those years in a science lab results in this.
Don was dancing with Nina Caliente, but noone seemed to notice. Bella was invited back into the house (no questions asked I guess) and turns out she’s four sim-days younger than her daughter. *shrug* aliens do weird shit.
The sun went down, and it was time for the actual wedding part of the party – Everyone took a seat and Don and Cassie stood at the arch. Cassandra gave her wedding vows… but Don
backed out, suddenly realizing what was about to befall him if he took the ring. With the party fallen on ice and everyone wandering out the gates to go home, Bella and Mortimer decided to renew their vows (not kidding, they are technically married, but in-game they’re engaged at the same time… it’s weird), but only after Bella cried hysterically for Cassandra’s loss. She was more hurt than Cassie or anyone else.
Cassandra talks to one of her only friends at the party that’s not being scared by the ghosts Gretle and Gunther, Darren Dreamer.
Darren has a crush on Cassandra, but she thinks of him as a friend. He tells her how silly love makes people act, and they continue talking for a couple hours about life and … stuff. At the end of the night, Cassie gives Darren a kiss and realizes her love for him (laame).
