Don, the Patels, and DeBateaus

January 19, 2009 at 7:32 pm (Uncategorized)

Hey,

So after getting to the Autumn mark of the Calientes, the last house of Pleasantview was Don Lothario’s.  A bit of background is that he is the town cassanova, and his deck is said to be the last place Bella Goth has been seen.  He is involved with both Calientes, as you remember, and I don-meets-shenenemade sure he didn’t marry Cassandra.  His first adventure showed up with the new nanny, because the other one married Daniel Pleasant…

And would you believe her name is Shenene?  I think that’s how it’s spelled, I just know that when I read it aloud it was “shah-NAY-nay”.  don-and-shenene

After spending the entire night with Shenene, Don got to take her to his room.  I love how it’s decorated with pictures of women, one of them being Bella Goth.  The one on the right can only being Nina Caliente, even though her hair isn’t that short, and the one in the middle could be Kaylynn or something.  Meh, I’m only analyzing the pictures because the one on the left is intended to be Bella.

So I said goodbye to Pleasantview and moved onto the town I’m most excited to play, seeing as TS3 is coming out so soon, Belladonna Cove.  I should have played them in expansion order, but whatever.  Belladonna Cove came with Apartment Life, the newest expansion.

I love babies, so the first house I stopped at was the Patels.  Ramir and Ana are expecting; Ramir is in the political career track and Ana is a ana-in-laborhostess.  Ana’s super feminine face made me hope that this baby was going to be a girl, but I’ve decided NO RELOADS!  Once the baby is born, I will not reload the game to get a different gender.  So, unfortunately for me, the baby was a boy.

cruz-with-ana

I named him Cruz, to keep with the theme of Spanish names.  I love how Ramir is smiling in the background, as if he’s like “oopsie daisy!” with the Simpson’s Dr. Nick’s voice.  He’s an oddball.  Ramir loves to cook and then eat outside.

The last family I played were the DeBateaus.  They live in the ritzy part of Belladonna Cove in a high-rise apartment suite.  Armand DeBateau was originally married to Jessica Peterson, and tara-tardaccording to the game wanted an heir, but Jessica wasn’t interested, so they broke up.  What’s odd to me is the memory of her cheating.  I’ll have to check out her memories later tonight.  Armand adopted Tara after Jessica moved out, and she is his pride and joy, and wears lots of eyeliner.  I thought it was weird she was supposedly so smart, when she autonomously went and checked herself out in a medicine cabinet.  See, there’s one WITH and one WITHOUT a mirror.  Her’s has no mirror. When I loaded up this house, they already had a mission and had no idea – Marry Armand to Dina Caliente.

I spent days and days waiting for the right sims to walk by so he could greet them and possibly meet her, but it just wasn’t working.  I tried going to community lots and spamming walk-bys.  Eventually preggo Nina walked by, and I had her invite her sister over.  Hooray!armand-and-dina

I can’t decide if I want Dina to be very easily impressed or very good at finding the right tree to bark up.  The DeBateaus are LOADED, and Dina’s finally going to be able to live the life she really, really wants to.

It took a little while, but Idina-wedding-1 eventually coerced Armand into falling for Dina.  I figured Dina would want a big beautiful wedding, but neither of them really knew anyone that would come.  They invited some friends and tried not to get the hideous bartender lady in any shots.

Tara was dancing the whole time, and was really good at getting her head, or at least the back of it, into a few otherwise decent shots.  When Dina moved in, so did her baby, and for a few hours I got nervous about where it was going to show up because I couldn’t find it.  Sure enough, on schedule, it popped up on the sidewalk by the edge of the lot.  Tara ran over, scooped the baby up, and ran back in the house.  I don’t need anyone calling the cops on a wedding.dina-wedding-22

Everyone went to go get cake, some danced, some were in the hot tub.  It was a good night, and after the party, Dina hopped into HER new hot tub to soak for another 8 hours like she did before the party.

The Burbs and Calientes

January 13, 2009 at 12:50 pm (Uncategorized)

Hey,

The Burbs were really uneventful compared to my other homes.

Background: The Burbs consist of John, Jennifer, and Lucy.  Jennifer Burb is Daniel Pleasant’s sister, making Lilith and Angela Pleasant Lucy’s cousins.  Their story says that they moved from the big city to a more residential area.

Jennifer Burb, a fortune sim, wanted a job as an EMT, and her husband John got a job matching his Lifetime Want of becoming a cop.  So nanny-at-burbsJennifer studies all the time and John is constantly jumproping or working out with the TV.  At the beginning, both careers required the parents to work at night.  John called a nanny to watch little Lucy while they were away, but the only thing she was good for was leaving food in the oven while watching TV.  She would sit calmly as the oven went up in flames, a firefighter would run in and extinguish it and let himself out.  Lucy was usually safe in her room.  She was one of the only really bad nannies I’ve had.  She does more-often-than-not cook lobster thermidor though.  And with Seasons, I can just stick it in the fridge as leftovers.

Lucy Burb grew up pretty uneventfully.  They didn’t know anyone well enough to have a party, so I thought I’d save her the bad party memory.  lucy-burbI find that if left to my own devices, most of my sims would grow up to be Family or Knowledge sims, so now I roll a die.  Lucy Burb, to my immediate displeasure, was a Pleasure sim.  But now that I’ve lived her for a day, I think it suits her.  I forgot to take a picture of her new hair and makeup though.

Pretty much nothing else happened at the Burbs’.  I was thinking about having Jennifer and John have another child, but it’d be better if I didn’t quadruple the population, so I’m making sure I restrain myself early.

The next house on rotation was the Caliente sisters.

Background:  The Caliente twins are Dina and Nina.  They live in a condo near Don Lothario and have a semi-alien heritage.  The game hints that they may have had something to do with Bella Goth’s disappearance, as they arrived on its eve.  The alien lineage is also a bit suspicious.

Dina is a blonde woman with the fortune aspiration.  When the game starts, she is in love with Mortimer Goth, but Bella’s move back into the Goth mansion took care of that.  Nina is a redhaired woman with the romance aspiration.  Both women are involved with Don Lothario, apparently unaware of one another’s interest in him.  Nina’s Lifetime Want is to be a professional party guest, so I threw her into the slacker career right away.  Dina stays at home, looking at Don Lothario’s house.  caliente-argue

The first thing they do when I enter the home is argue, apparently, about whose fault it is the sun is out.  Could they also be part vampire?

Ah, forgot to mention – Dina Caliente was also previously married to Michael Bachelor, who happens to be Bella Goth’s brother.  They still keep his urn in the living room, and he occasionally makes his presence known.  Mostly by scaring Nina.michael-scares-nina

I directed Dina to mourn the loss of her late husband, just out of curiosity, and sure enough, Dina doesn’t seem to care at all.  Many people have hypothesized that Dina married Michael to get closer to the Goth fortune.  I wish the sims could pretend in that way – she wouldn’t marry him if she didn’t love him, and she can’t pretend to love him.  Hopefully this is one of the things The Sims 3 will bring us – horrible poeple.dina-doesnt-care

The next day, when Nina was out at work, Dina invited Don Lothario over for a dip in the hot tub on the roof.  Don is an intern in the medical career.  He began to talk about how he could be a doctor, but Dina seemed to show an intense dislike for that idea.  don-docShe interrupted him to ramble about makeup.  Maybe how he should be a cosmetologist or something.  Perhaps I’ll take her advice and make him a hairdresser.

Dina rolled up the want to have a baby.  Done!  I waited around a few days to see if maybe the guy I want her to marry, DeBateau (a rich sim from Belladonna Cove) happened to walk by to satisfy her other want of marrying rich sim.  When he didn’t show up, I came up with a new storyline.  She would have a baby with Don and marry him later.

Romance ensued.  I kept worrying that maybe her sister would come home and freak out and make my already dense Megahood one home greater by splitting this one into two.don-and-dina1

I thought Don and Dina lookd like a pretty cool couple, but I would rather she marry a rich sim, just because, really.  And I couldn’t see Don getting married.

Apparently during this putsing around, the Calientes have been decent hobby builders because the matchmaker came by, and out of her lovely garbage bag, dropped off a magic lamp.  Yep, Genie Lamp!matchmaker-genie  She thinks she’s so sly, sneaking around in midday.

Nina became interested in the lamp before she even came home from work and wanted to make a wish right away.  The only appropriate wish here was “Give me Beauty”.  Now all the sims that know her think she’s the hottest thing they’ve ever seen and she has to keep going outside in the middle of the night/early morning to tell sims to go away, hah.nina-and-genie1

For the next several days, both sisters have been building their skills and trying to be promoted in their careers.  Bills were piling up, so Dina took a job in the athletic career, her lifetime want.  That looks a little silly to me.

It wasn’t long before Don came a’knockin’ again, but this time while Dina wadon-and-ninasn’t home.  Nina was, and I think that’s what he was hoping for, honestly.  Nina took the opportunity to fulfill some wants while her sister wasn’t home.  For some reason, now that I have these funky clothing from The Sims 2 Store, all the sims that have to generate outerwear are generating either the medeival or rennaissance outerwear.  These sims are looking really silly now that winter’s rolling around, especially since several sims will walk by with the same outerwear dress.

I love how quickly the sims move – Dina was showing her pregnancy, but I feel like it flew by dina-pregnantquicker than it usually does.  Dina shuffled around the house while Nina jumproped like hell for her next promotion and befriending Mr. Green, I forget his first name, from Belladonna Cove.  I’m not sure what my plans for him are, but I don’t thinkbaby-desiree I want him with Nina, so I had to restrain her a bit.  Three sim days later and baby Desirée was welcomed into the Caliente family.  I thought the ‘desire’ reference was appropriate, and saw later that that section of the family tree was all D names.  Desirée has both parents’ green eyes and her father’s black hair.  I hope the genes mix well…

I’m not sure if Nina was jealous, but she may have been.  Just a day before the birth of Desirée, guess who else started to show?nina-pregnant

Cassandra’s Marriage

January 11, 2009 at 9:57 pm (Uncategorized)

Hey,

Background: So I was playing the Dreamer family last night, that’s Darren and his son Dirk.  They live in a decent size house, and Darren is an aspiring artist.  Dirk is dating Lilith Pleasant.  Darren’s wife, Darlene, died in a house fire a while ago, and Darren’s looking to remarry.  He has a crush on Cassandra.

Since I broke up Cassandra and Don Lothario, I thought I’d send Cassandra over to Darren’s house to get engaged.  Darren proposed, and of darren-proposescourse she accepted.  Darren rolled up the want to become a witch/wizard/whatever also, so I think later I’ll make Cassandra turn Darren into one.  As of now, she doesn’t have the proper regeants to cast the spell, and the stupid game left her book and cauldron at the Goth mansion.  I could either just go buy more or have Alex give them as gifts or something.

darlenes-angryAfter Cassandra moved in, Darlene seemed to be throwing a lot of fits in the yard, and what’s weird is that none of them are about Cassandra or Darren, but Dirk!  She’s always mad at him.  He’s got A’s in school, excelling socially… there’s no reason for her to be mad at him.

Since Darren didn’t have any money to tcheershrow a wedding, they just exchanged vows outside the next morning.  Cassandra didn’t really seem to mind, I think she was just happy to be married.  Even if the guy’s a little older.  She’s getting to know Dirk a little at a time, and she brought part of her fortune with her when she moved in.  Soon, I’ll renovate the place a bit.  Maybe some construction.

Not long after their wedding is Cassandra showing signs of being pregnant!  Hooray!cass-pregnant  As a family sim, she’s kind of obsessing about having a baby.  I don’t know if I want a boy or a girl.  Probably a girl.  Not sure how many children are going to result from this marriage as of yet, but we’ll see.dirk-asleep

Dirk hasn’t really been responding to this whole situation.  He gets up, goes to school, comes back, plays some video games, does his homework and eats and goes to bed.  Lethargic.

Cassandra’s a Witch

January 10, 2009 at 9:57 pm (Uncategorized)

Hey Simmers -

So yesterday and today I played some more with the Goth family.  Bella had moved back into the family mansion, and right away had picked up bella-returns-to-workher job where she’d left off – Bella was in the politics career, and as of now, a stateswoman.  I don’t know what that means.  She carpools with Cassandra to work, and Cassandra seems really thrilled.  They have an interesting connection – Bella still cries about Cassandra being left at the altar, and Cassandra is super friendly to her mom.  Cassandra returned from work that day wanting to adopt a kicass-and-alegratten.  She calls the adoption agency right away (isn’t the sims great?) and they drop off a sweet little white kitten named Alegra.  Cassandra goes to greet the kitten, who’s happy to see her, but the kitten, without even meeting her (still at work) thinks about Bella all the time.  Cassandra looked disappointed, I wonder if I might want to create this “everyone loves Bella” storyline…

Dina Caliente is still pissed at Mortimer for “leaving” her for his wife.  Maxis had the game originally set up so that he’d marry her, he was in love with her and everything.  And that was my plan.  But the Bella vandal-dinashowed up in-game.  Dina likes to kick over the garbage can, causing roaches.  The butler used to call the exterminator, but now that roaches are around pretty much all the time, he doesn’t ever call.  I don’t want a ton of memories of roaches, so I have to have someone watch the garbage can all the time.  But I rotate sims.

Mortimer seemed kinda sad that he didn’t have a little kitten too, so he adopted a little black kitten, Bonkers.  The name suggested seemed fitting for a guy like him, not sure why.  morty-and-bonkers

Cassandra decided that she should treat herself (and with §511,000 in the bank, I don’t see why not) before attempting to settle down again.  Perhaps to try to find herself before making a family.  With that kind of money, “self exploration” means dining out, for one thing.  Cassandra got a ride over to a club-restaurant and had the chef chose her dinner (because I can’t see, for the life of me, what food it is she’s thinking about having.  The chef is psychic, however), and she feasted on some lavish spaghetti and meatballs.cass-dining2  This was a weird restaurant – I wish I took another picture – the host was an elderly man with a mohawk and the waiter, as you can see here, has some crazy assymmetrical cut.  She could hear thunder outside, and, like a normal person, figured it was just the weather.  When she walked outside however, she could just see the tail of a broom and an evil witch atop.  Ahead of her was the good witch, but I can’t remember her name.  Cassandra befriended her quickly, and for the next few days the good witch recieved called from Cassandra every day after work.  cass-and-nice-witch

After her fabulous dinner, Cassandra hiked over to a clothing boutique and bought half the store in new clothes.  Most of them mirrored her old image, but she enjoyed trying on all the clothes (even the ones she would never buy).cass-shopping

I’ll have to put a picture of Alexander into my next post – he’s aged to a teenager and taken the aspiration of Fortune.  This was the result of a dice roll, but when I thought about it after, I thought it suited him rather well.

Oh yeah, and Cassandra became a witch.

Update for Jan 8th

January 9, 2009 at 1:04 pm (Uncategorized)

Sim day is a very dangerous day.

Background: I decided I’d move on to work with the Broke family, a family of Brandi, Dustin, and Beau Broke.  Brandi quit her job in culinary (before the game starts) to spend more time with her family, specifically to raise her toddler Beau.  Dustin is a trouble maker teenager, and dating Angela Pleasant.  He is in the criminal career track.

brandiandbeauBrandi  definitely loves Beau, it’s easy to see.  She rolls up wants involving him all the time.  Dustin is often off sulking somewhere else in the house, and I wonder if that’s possible for these tiny people.  He usually grabs a snack before school while Beau and Brandi play.dustin-broke  According to the game, Brandi once had a husband, the father of both boys, Skip.  He died in a suspicious pool ladder accident, but didn’t die before he was able to get Brandi pregnant with a third child.  In every game, the third child is always a boy, and always a “copy” of his mother, Brandi, so the only thing that varies from game to game is the name.

But that’s not really true.  In my game, I was silly enough to max out her Family Aspiration perks, meaning she was more likely to have twins.  I thought this would only affect future pregnancies, because the number of children is determined upon conception.  brandi-birth

But that really didn’t matter, because she had twins anyway.  I couldn’t decide between Theo and Gabriel for the coming boy so it worked out for me.  Theo and Gabriel it is.  Both children had black hair and blue eyes, which they must’ve gotten from Skip – Brandi has grey eyes.brandi-electrocuted1

Ah, but the happiness for the Brokes would only last for so long.  The TV broke a few days later, and Brandi with three mechanical skill points decided she’d fix it.  Electrocuted, she went and took a shower, ate dinner, and played some pinball.  When her mood returned, she gave another go at the TV, once too many times.

Grim showed up, and Dustin and Beau (now a child) cried for a while.  I was wondering what was going to happen to the four boys, on their own.  Beau was going to become a teen in a few days, but not really soon enough.  Dustin could take care of the boys, but they had just newly become toddlers – and needed to be taught everything!  Two toddlers, school, and a job.  If he does poorly at school, he’ll be fired (it’s cool that criminals care about their employers grades).  If he’s fired, they might starve to death, but not before the social worker takes the children.  It’s a big responsibility.

dustin-loses-to-grimDustin begged Grim for him to return his mother, but Grim was used to this kind of whining.  He told Dustin he’d give him one chance, and held out his fists, telling Dustin to pick one.  It didn’t matter which one he picked, both were losing hands, but Dustin would always blame himself for not saving his mother.  What a shame, I was going to have Brandi marry Nervous Subject…

Now it’s up to the four lost boys to take care of themselves.

I had come to my two-season play mark, and hopped over to the Goth mansion.

Background: Cassandra was readying the wedding party between her and the town cassanova, Don Lothario.  She has a younger brother, Alexander, and her father, Mortimer now in his old age.  He is a retired Mad Scientist (top of the science career, which is the career Cassandra is also persuing).  Her mother, Bella Goth, was abducted by aliens and not returned like the others would have been.

bella-dancesI had Alex stock the buffet table, Cassie called her guests and Mortimer played the piano for a bit… just to get him out of the way.  When Cassandra was calling people, I noticed that Bella Goth was in her phonebook.  I knew that Bella would be back in the Megahood, but I had no idea she would have a relationship with her family and everything!  I was going to make her have amnesia.  So Cassandra invited her over.

In a few minutes, the party was in full swing.  Music was playing, Bella played with Alexander, and Mortimer was showing off his dance skills – I guess all those years in a science lab results in this. mortimer-dances Don was dancing with Nina Caliente, but noone seemed to notice.  Bella was invited back into the house (no questions asked I guess) and turns out she’s four sim-days younger than her daughter.  *shrug*  aliens do weird shit.

The sun went down, and it was time for the actual wedding part of the party – Everyone took a seat and Don and Cassie stood at the arch.  Cassandra gave her wedding vows… but Don don-ditchesbacked out, suddenly realizing what was about to befall him if he took the ring.  With the party fallen on ice and everyone wandering out the gates to go home, Bella and Mortimer decided to renew their vows (not kidding, they are technically married, but in-game they’re engaged at the same time… it’s weird), but only after Bella cried hysterically for Cassandra’s loss.  She was more hurt than Cassie or anyone else.

Cassandra talks to one of her only friends at the party that’s not being scared by the ghosts Gretle and Gunther, Darren Dreamer.  cassandra-confidesDarren has a crush on Cassandra, but she thinks of him as a friend.  He tells her how silly love makes people act, and they continue talking for a couple hours about life and … stuff.  At the end of the night, Cassie gives Darren a kiss and realizes her love for him (laame).

First Update! – The Pleasants

January 8, 2009 at 6:28 pm (Uncategorized)

Tuesday

Background:  Daniel Pleasant and Mary-Sue Pleasant are married with twin daughters, Angela and Lilith Pleasant.  Angela is the perfect daughter, Lilith not so much.

Daniel and the MaidDaniel Pleasant decided while his wife Mary-Sue was at work, and Lilith and Angela at school, it was high time he hook up with the maid again.  Kaylynn didn’t hesitate – she was already with the town cassanova, Don Lothario, anyway.  Daniel didn’t realize, to his misfortune, that is wife had come home early.

Mary-Sue walked into the room calmly, slapped the maid (who was waving to her, like nothing happened), and ordered Daniel leave.  He begged to stay, but Mary-Sue is cold.  While Daniel was in aspiration failure and being hypnotized by a psychiatrist only he could see, Kaylynn asked Mary-Sue to forgive her.  Despite standing in her underwear evidence, Mary-Sue forgave Kaylynn.  Perhaps they’ll be friends one day.

divorce

Angela cried quietly in the kitchen while Lilith threw a temper tantrum in the living room.  Even though Angela liked both her parents, her relationship dropped for both after this incident – her father for cheating, her mother for divorcing.  Lilith seemed to take it harder.  She was frequently crying and angry – Angela seemed to get it out of her system pretty quick.  Perhaps Lilith blamed this whole thing on herself – her and Angela always wore the same hairstyle, and up until then she did only her makeup and clothing differently than her sister.  Just leading up to the incident however, she bob-cut it, dyed it black and purple, and flaunted to her sister.  Angela decided now that her family was in ruins she would cut her hair too.  …but not dye it, goodness.

Later that week, Daniel found a place, a small city dwelling pad, but it was alright.  And it had a deck.  He invited Kaylynn over for dinner, sprucing up as much as he could.  He knew she was used to the home he once lived in.  As daniel-proposes1much as he scrubbed, the fridge would never come clean, and the only thing he knew how to make was Macaroni and Cheese.  She smiled politely throughout the dinner, and Daniel probably didn’t notice how false it was.  She felt bad later for thinking she could just grit her teeth through the crappy dinner when he proposed.  She convinced herself she had no idea he had good intentions, so she was right to be so snobby.

Kaylynn wondered through the last few bits of dinner how Daniel and her would marry.  Daniel, the ladies’ man than he is, picked up on Kaylynn’s worries.  He tried, with as much enthusiasm he could muster, to demonstrate how the small wedding bells tied up on a clear spot on the wall could be their wedding spot.  Kaylynn knew she deserved a big beautiful wedding like all the other women in Pleasantview, but she just wanted to be married, now.  Every girl she knows has a family, and she wanted one too.

Kaylynn proposed they be married that night!  Right after macaroni.daniel-marries

They quickly ran upstairs to celebrate their marriage.  And Kaylynn’s addition to the family worth of §17,000.

Meanwhile, at the Pleasants’…

Lilith definitely seems to be taking the breakup harder than Angela.  While Angela was giving herself a makeover (and hogging the bathroom) Lilith thought she’d talk a bit with her mother, but Mary-Sue was a bit inebriated at the moment to care much. lilith-crushed

The next few days were pretty mopey – Mary-Sue didn’t leave her room.  She just lounged on her bed and spent her nights reigniting the fireplace.  Angela had decided that enough was enough, and sneaking out was her new venture.  Lilith despised her for it, too – that was her part in the family.sneakyangela

One night, when Angela was the one out and Lilith was warm in bed, Mary-Sue almost lost it.  The fire had gone out one too many times, she would recall later.  Feeling as though she should have tended to Daniel more, Mary-Sue briefly entertained the idea of asking for his return, but from what she had heard, he had actually married Kaylynn.  What was she to do?

Mary-Sue knew exactly what to do, maybe because she had gone nuts.  She jumped out of bed and went to the telephone.  She dialed a well-known matchmaker.  Mary-Sue, the hard-ass she was, often didn’t even take that kind of thing jokingly.  But the woman with black eyes was her last hope for happiness.

calling-matchmaker

The Matchmaker was there much sooner than Mary-Sue had expected, perhaps sooner than most people would have arrived.  She rang the doorbell, and Mary-Sue wondered why she would do that at such a time – Mary-Sue worried she woke the twins.  She waited at the bottom of the stairs for a few minutes to make sure, and when she thought they would have fallen back asleep, she opened the door to one of the oddest characters in Pleasantview.

She was obviously part alien with those black eyes.  Perhaps it was the reason man11she was so ugly, but Mary-Sue didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask.  Instead, she appealed to this stranger for a husband, telling her as much as she could in a few sentences what she was like.  After paying a hefty price, a red-haired man dropped out of the sky.  Mary-Sue thanked the Matchmaker for her time while the man rubbed his head.  Mary-Sue introduced herself in her nightie, and the man gave his name, Talin.  She dismissed the name when she saw the last person she’d expect coming up the walkway, Angela.  angela-caught1

After berating her favorite most well-behaved daughter in front of Talin, she thought she’d surely lose the date.  She did, but that’s certainly not why – he just wasn’t into someone as ’stuffy’ as Mary-Sue.

Date after date led to the same disappointments.  Mary-Sue worried that all the elidgeable men out there were too young, or worse – she was too old!  Mary-Sue moped around the house for days, confiding in Berjes, their butler.butler1

One mopey day while the girls were at school Mary-Sue came to the conclusion that maybe she should be dating someone older than she’s used to.  Their wise from experience, not as naive as silly Daniel, and would appreciate her for something other than appearances.  Someone that would take care of her.  Then she looked up at the man who was taking care of them now – Berjes, the butler.

Wednesday

kaylynn-birth1Very early on Wednesday morning, Kaylynn gave birth to Daniel’s baby, whom she (I) named Simone.  Kaylynn seemed really french to me, not just the maid outfit, but her face and hair and everything.  Simone has green eyes (both parents) and red hair like her dad.  The upstairs office had to be completely renovated and moved down into the already-cramped living room.  The former office is now Simone’s room, white and pink things everywhere.  Daniel wasn’t home for the birth, but was super excited when he came home a few minutes later.  simone-family-resemblence

When I got a better look at Simone when she aged into a toddler, it was pretty evident that she took after her dad – not just her hair, but everything else.  She looks almost nothing like her mom (darnit, maybe she’ll be pregnant again soon..).

Other than aging the baby, nothing really new has happened here, Daniel and Kaylynn are working.  Kaylynn’s working towards her dream of being an Education Minister, the top of the education career.  It’s pretty funny seeing her of all people as a recess aide.

Over at the Pleasant home…

butler2…Mary-Sue went to the kitchen to talk to Berjes.  He tells some jokes, and she laughs, because she hasn’t in such a long time.

With Mary-Sue’s new uplifted attitude came Lilith and Angela’s.  Lilith discovered she’s an avid sports fan, and Angela realized her love of nature.  Maybe I’ll do something with that later, maybe Angela can be a plant-sim or something.  butler3

Soon after the romance began, Berjes moved in.  Lilith and Angela seem to like him, he’s a very nice, but shy, man.

Alrighty, I suppose this is a good time to cut off.  Time to go play for today!

First Post, not an update at all.

January 8, 2009 at 3:53 pm (Uncategorized)

Welcome to Janelle’s Sims!

This is the introduction to what I will later deem updates.  I have diagnosed myself with a preservative disorder – I hate playing a game that will mess up how the game originally arrived in the box.  So when I got The Sims 2 in 2004, I inspected all the homes and families, made by its spawn company Maxis, and no further effort was put into playing those families.  For some reason, I felt that I didn’t want to mess them up.  As if I was going to be the last person on Earth with the files as they were on the CD/DVD, and it was really important they remain that way.

So with The Sims 3 less than 50 days away, I have decided I will play the Maxis families instead of my own neighborhood.  …But which one?  There’s the obvious, Pleasantview – the not so pleasant place to live, with widows, infidelity, deceit, and trailor trash, but I thought I might get bored.  Then there’s Veronaville, where every family is an allusion to a Shakespearean play (The Capps and Montys for example), but again, thought I’d get bored.  I wasn’t ever really into that neighborhood even though it was really neat.  Strangetown is just as it sounds – there’s a rivalry between a retired pollination alien that just want to live a normal life and a military general, the alien-obsessed, and experiments on a nervous subject up on the hill.  Riverblossom Hills is a neighborhood that came with the Seasons expansion pack – a lonely gardener, sims that photosynthesize, and a Goth family knock off.  With the Freetime (hobbies) expansion came Desiderata Valley, a town of leisure.  The newest neighborhood, Belladonna Cove, came with Apartment Life – lots of pairings for me to make, six orphans living alone, and witches to be had.Megahood

There’s so much to chose from, I didn’t want to.  So I didn’t.  Instead, I downloaded HystericalParoxysm’s Megahood, a neighborhood with every single Maxis made sim bunking together – Sims from different neighborhoods could, and would, interact as they never could before.

Every post hereafter is going to be what has happened, what I’m planning.  …If it worked.
